The Exiled

Anna Fekete 3

When Anna returns to the Balkan town of her birth, she is caught up in the refugee crisis thundering down on Europe.

Anna Fekete decides she will spend the summer relaxing in the region of her birth, in a small Serbian town. While celebrating the local wines, Anna’s purse is stolen. It doesn’t take long to find the thief – dead on the riverbank. The local police are reluctant to conduct a proper investigation, so Anna takes matters into her own hands.

The trail of clues unexpectedly leads Anna to her own family, to closely guarded secrets concealing a horrendous travesty of justice. As layer after layer of corruption, deceit and guilt are revealed, Anna is caught up in the refugee crisis spreading like wildfire across Europe.

While Anna is in the centre of the globally pressing tragedy, her heart is shaken by a threat directed straight at the core of her existence: her family.
