New fun, middle-grade series for animal lovers written by an animal expert
Allu’s long-held dream finally comes true when she gets her own puppy. She can barely believe that her mother said yes, but nevertheless, there is an energetic Pinscher puppy in the living room, destroying everything it can sink its teeth into. A dream-come-true brings chaos but also surprises and new friends. Starting at a new school is nerve-wracking until Allu meets Christa, who loves cats, and Erika, whose big white dog tends to have a mind of its own. Their mutual love of animals and a pet rescue mission brings these three suburban girls together.
Themes of friendship, fear and self-confidence are combined with schoolgirl humour; and the joys and troubles of owning your first pet make this an ideal read for all little animal-mad girls. The author’s comic voice and quick dialogue is anchored in reality with her lifelong experience of pets, dog training and animal behaviour.
